How to unite America may sound like an impossible question — but what if most people don’t want division in the first place? What if there’s a growing movement for ending toxic polarization and building a future rooted in respect, listening, and real community?
In this episode of Outrage Overload, we’re talking about political depolarization solutions that don’t require Congress or cable news — just us.
Our guest, Adam Mizel, co-founder and CEO of US United, set out across the country in a purple pickup truck to discover what real Americans want from one another. His journey revealed something media outrage rarely shows:
People from every corner of this nation are hungry for connection.
Not outrage.
Not hate.
Not the endless fight.
National Unity Day — A Nationally Recognized Movement
US United created National Unity Day USA, now officially part of the National Day Calendar. Observed annually on the second Saturday in December, it’s a nationwide invitation to do just one thing — however small — to bring people together.
It could be posting an uplifting story instead of a critical one…
Reaching out to someone you disagree with…
Or simply connecting with neighbors five miles from home.
No politics.
No “mushy middle.”
Just unity in action.
Why This Episode Matters
Millions of people are exhausted by division and searching for hopeful news about America. They’re looking for ways to step out of the outrage spiral without giving up their values.
This episode offers real examples of people doing it — and a path you can follow.
Unity won’t magically erase our differences.
But it’s the only way we’ll make anything better — side by side, not toe to toe facing off.

Adam Mizel is co-founder and the CEO of US United. He is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and business leader who’s passion for unity brought US United to life.
Participate in our Unity Day Walk & Photo Project
The goal of this self-guided project is simple: to pause, step away from the noise, and deliberately look for the everyday acts of connection, kindness, and shared humanity that already exist in our community.
